Central Punjab beat Southern Punjab to qualify for QeA Trophy final

Karachi: Central Punjab (CP) beat Southern Punjab (SP) by 10 wickets to qualify for Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy final. 

Set to chase 63 runs, Mohammad Ikhlaq (38*) and Mohammad Saad (25*) led CP to a convincing 10-wickets victory.

In the first inning, CP enforced a follow-on after SP were bowled out for 187 in reply to 493-7(dec). In their second chance, SP with the help of Zain Abbas (118) and Salman Ali Agha (79) took a lead of 62 runs by scoring 368-10.

Ahmed Safi took four wickets while skipper Hasan Ali bagged three wickets.

It must be noted here that CP lost back-to-back matches initially but after the fifth round, they made a strong comeback under Hasan Ali.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has already qualified for the final following their strong position on the points table. They will meet CP in QeA Trophy final, scheduled from January 1 here at National Stadium.
