Islamabad: Muzammil Murtaza and Sarah Mahboob clinched the men’s and women’s titles in the 6th Begum Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Tournament 2020 here at the PTF Complex on Sunday.
In the Men’s singles final, Muzammil Murtaza upset top seed Aqeel Khan in a three-set thriller. He won the first set 7-6 (5) after an exciting contest. But he lost the second set 3-6 as Aqeel bounced back. However, Muzambil looked on top to win the third set 6-4 after a tough battle.
Sarah Mahboob Khan defeated Ushna Suhail in a well-fought three-set match to claim the women’s title. She bagged the first set 7-6(3) but lost the second set 5-7. She held her nerves to win the third set 6-4.
On the other hand in the seniors, 45 plus doubles final, Mehmood Khan and Azeem Khan defeated Rashid Malik and Fayyaz Khan 6-2, 4-6(10-5).
Mr. Ayman Ismael, CFO of a renowned real estate project, was the Guest of Honor while Mr. Anwar Saifullah Khan graced the occasion as Chief Guest to witness the finals and distributed prizes among the winners.
