Do you know domestic performer Nauman Ali started his career as fast bowler?

Karachi: Northern’s top-wicket taker from the last two Quaid-e-Azam (QeA) Trophy seasons, spinner Nauman Ali was once a left-arm fast bowler. 

In a video interview released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Nauman shared that he started his career as a fast bowler but later on transformed into a spinner. “I was born in Khipro but later on moved to Hyderabad where I started my cricket career as a left-arm pacer. Later on, I tried left-arm spin bowling and enjoyed it throughout, hence continued with it,” he said.

Nauman is currently the highest wicket-taker in the ongoing QeA Trophy with 61 wickets at an average of 23.08. Last year, he bagged the best bowler award in the premium First-Class tournament for taking the highest 54 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 25.38.

Talking about his debut in the national team, Nauman expressed confidence to achieve this feat soon. “I am enjoying my cricket and have been performing for the last couple of years. I look forward to making my place in the national team soon,” he concluded.
