All-rounder Moeen Ali has announced his retirement from Test cricket, leaving England without a key man ahead of this summer's Ashes series.
The 34-year-old debuted in 2014, posting five Test centuries and taking 195 wickets.
He finishes a brilliant career third on the list of spin bowlers to have taken Test wickets for Engand, behind Derek Underwood and Graeme Swann.
Ali is reportedly uncomfortable with the long amount of time the upcoming Ashes in Australia would see him spend away from his family, but that he will continue playing shorter forms of the game.
It remains to be seen which other England stars pull the pin on the Ashes, but it was reported last week that Ben Stokes is reportedly "increasingly unlikely" to travel with England.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison rejected Boris Johnson's request for the nation's quarantine restrictions to be eased in regards to the England team's families, making the tour an even more daunting prospect for players.
You could hardly blame Ali for not wanting to tour Australia again, given how poorly his lone tour down under went a few years ago.

Ali struggled in his only Ashes series in Australia back in 2017-18 on both sides of the ball, failing to reach a half century in any of his nine knocks. After a strong start in Brisbane where he made 38 and 40, he scored just 101 for the remainder of the tour.
He bowled nearly 170 overs, taking only five wickets as the Aussies won the series 4-0.
