IPC Minister Fehmida Mirza aims to promote sports in ‘Jails’

Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), Fehmida Mirza said she has suggested all provincial governments promoting healthy sports in jails.

Speaking to ARY News, Fehmida said he aimed to promote sports and healthy activities in jails to divert the attention of prisoners there. “I wanted sports to be top-priority in jails as well because it is something that can help people come out of mental pressure. Especially, in child jails, sports can play an important role to change the mindset of those young kids,” she said.

“I have already sent the plan to provincial governments out of which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Punjab have started working on it. I am still waiting for the response from Sindh and Balochistan, I hope they will consider it soon,” she reiterated.
