Bad boy struck in genitals, kicked out of event

Tennis bad boy Tennys Sandgren has been kicked out of a Challenger event, defaulted from a match that descended into farcical scenes.

The fiery American was the No.1 seed for the Atlantic Tire Championship Challenger event in Cary and he was looking comfortable in his first round clash with Christopher Eubanks.

Sandgren had broken his opponent in the first game and was up 40-30 in the second when he hit a forehand long.

The player was frustrated and his anger boiled over when a ballkid bounced a ball to him that accidentally struck him square in the genitals (he posted vision of that moment in the tweet below).

The American angrily lashed at the ball, which flew off his racquet and hit a linesperson in the backside.

Sandgren was immediately defaulted and his opponent was handed the most unusual victory.

Sandgren took to Twitter later to laugh about the incident, and acknowledge he had erred in his actions.

"Just to be clear, this was all totally my fault," Sandgren wrote in a post along with vision of the incident.
