The Wallabies punished South Africa with the full seven points after Springboks skipper Siya Kolisi was issued a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Tom Banks.
Early in the first half, Kolisi got his timing wrong on a dangerous tackle that put Banks in the horizontal position.
After the incident was sent to the TMO for a closer inspection, referee Luke Pearce, ruled: "We've got foul play, it's a dangerous tackle, but it's a yellow card for me."

Fortunately for the Wallabies fullback, he managed to stick his arms to avoid being tipped on the head and neck area.
"It was a fair call from the referee and TMO," Wallabies great Tim Horan said in commentary for Nine and Stan Sport.

"Tom Banks probably saved him from a red card… He just puts his right and left arm out.
"It probably saved Siya Kolisi from a red card. A yellow card is fine."
Playing against a 14-man Springboks outfit for 10 minutes, Andrew Kellaway then punished the South Africans after being gifted the ball in space to score the first try of the night.
The Wallabies went on to seal a famous 28-26 upset over the the reigning world champions.
