The Roosters have copped yet another injury blow as powerhouse frontman Sio Siua Taukeiaho went down with what appeared to be a serious knee injury in his side's loss to the Rabbitohs tonight.
South Sydney made it three on the trot against the Roosters with a 54-12 win tonight in Brisbane, and to make matters worse for Trent Robinson's men, Taukeiho departed early in the second half and did not return.
The forward became tangled up in an awkward tackle in which his left knee became trapped and twisted underneath him, screaming out as he crumpled to ground.
"Oh, his knee. You could see that just unfolding. That'll do," legendary commentator Ray Warren said.
Phil Gould was equally rattled.
"He's had problems with his knee. He's been bent backwards and he's got his leg caught underneath and he's had knee issues. Oh, dear. That's not nice," he said.
"People question sometimes whether they earn their money. Well, that's an example of the risks they take and how tough this game can be sometimes. Let's hope it's not as bad as it looked."
It's a huge blow for the Chooks who are running on fumes with their available players ahead of finals football.
Minutes later, Joey Manu would depart the match early with a gruesome facial injury after being caught high by former teammate Latrell Mitchell in a brutal hit.
MORE TO COME.
