Bolt answers NFL star's audacious challenge

Olympics legend Usain Bolt has warned a speedy NFL star against over-confidence after he was issued an audacious challenge.

Last month Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill took a shot at Bolt, questioning the sprint king's speed over 40 yards.

"Usain Bolt got out of the game for a reason, right?" Hill, 27, said.

"He's old. He's washed up. And he can't see me at 40 yards. A 100-yard dash? Yes. That's what he do. But 40-yard dash, if y'all recording this, Usain Bolt, you cannot see me."

The retired track and field star said he responded to Hill and was open to a foot race with him.

"I've said it to him. I've texted him," Bolt said on the Dan Patrick Show. "If you keep talking, I just might show up."

Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL, with his burst speed especially quick, so to make it fair for both, Bolt said he'd be up for a 70 metre contest.

"I'm good with 70 metres," Bolt said. "I still don't think he can take me at 40 metres. Even if he gets there, it's gonna be close.

"If I could get in shape, I proved already if I really, like, warm up and get ready to go, I can run fast."

Bolt is right to still feel confident, with the Jamaican eight-time Olympic gold medallist running 4.22 seconds in a 40-yard dash in a tracksuit, while Hill ran 4.29 before the 2016 NFL Draft.

"I told him] 'you got no chance!'" Bolt said.
