Centurians Fawad, Rohail put Pak Shaheens in driving seat against NZ A

Whangarei: Fawad Alam and Rohail Nazir scored centuries as Pakistan Shaheens took a 286-runs lead over New Zealand A in an Only Four-Day First-Class contest here at Cobham Oval Ground. 

Resuming at the overnight score of 15-1, Pakistan lost Shan Masood (14), Azhar Ali (29) and Imran Butt (10) earlier leaving their team tattering at 64-4. But, Fawad and Rohail rescued the Green Caps from 64-4 to 279-5, adding 215 runs together.

Fawad scored 139 runs 233 balls with the help of 11 boundaries while Rohail smashed 100 off 164 balls laced with 11 boundaries and two sixes.

Pakistan closed Day 3 at 318-9 with Mohammad Abbas and Naseem Shah batting on 0 and 1 not-out.

Mett Henry did the job with the ball as the right-arm pacer took five wickets while Michael Rae bagged three wickets for New Zealand A.
