The 19-year-old Fatima had an impressive series against West Indies where she ended as the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in the ODI series with 11 wickets coming at an average of 15.09.
In the final two ODIs, she returned with figures of 4/30 and 5/39 that helped Pakistan take the win on both occasions. Her 5/39 was Sana’s maiden five-wicket haul which came alongside a quickfire 28* off 19 balls with the bat.
On the other hand, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh, Bangladesh’s Shakib-ul-Hasan, West Indies’ Hayden Walsh Jr are the nominees for ICC Men’s Player of the Month.
An independent ICC Voting Academy and fans around the world can now vote to decide the winners, which will be announced next week. Fans registered on icc-cricket.com/awards are invited to cast their votes for their favourite ICC player of the month for July in both categories.
It must be noted that ICC started this award at the start of the year 2021. In April, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was named as the player of the month.
