Tiger Woods' private life hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent years so its understandable if the golf superstar wants to shield as much attention away from his family as possible.
However, that was difficult to avoid for Woods who is playing alongside his son Charlie,11, at an event in Florida this week.
Woods Jr's swing went viral on Friday as he and his father practiced in the lead up to the PNC Championship.
Woods, a 15-time major champion, was asked about his son's love of the game and was happy to divulge details about it but things changed when a reporter took the line of questioning down a path Woods felt uncomfortable addressing.
Reporter: Tiger, we all know you grew up with Jack's records on your wall. I'm wondering, what's in the bedroom of Charile?
Woods: I'm not going to stay what's in his bedroom. That's private. That's…
Reporter: Does he have golf imagery on his…
Woods: I'm not going there. Thank you.
While Woods' response was a message to anyone else looking to delve too deep into his son's life, the golf legend said his son wasn't too fussed being in front of the media and cameras during the week.
"When I was 11, it was a totally different world," Woods said.
"I was playing a lot of tournaments, but I wasn't in front of the media like this. It was so different. He's been handling this and playing and being a part of golf. And this is part of golf.
"It's so much fun for me to see him enjoying the game. That's the whole idea. Enjoy hitting shots and creating those shots. It's so cool for me to see him enjoy the sport."
Woods said he won't push his son into a career into golf, like his father, and will encourage him to do what he is passionate about.
"My dad never pushed me to play golf or run cross country," Woods said.
"Whatever Charlie decides to do, as I said, as long as he enjoys it. And he's doing that."
While he won't insist on a career as a professional athlete for his son, Woods admits his competitive edge may sway him that way.
Thomas said the younger Woods was as competitive as his ferociously driven father, and his dad couldn't disagree.
"He is competitive, yes. Our whole family is that way," Woods said.
"It's competitive for us. We're enjoying it and trying to figure out how we're going to get around here and get a win."
Former world No.1 Justin Thomas admitted Woods jr is a chip off the old block and has the game to boot.
"We had a putting contest, maybe three years ago, over at Tiger's house, us three," he said.
"We played nine holes and it was straight up, he (Charlie) didn't get any sort of advantage, we were just putting. I think he was eight or nine at the time and it was one of three combined weeks I have been world number one.
"Charlie was leading going into the last hole. Charlie was mouthing off, saying 'Here I am, I'm nine years old and I'm beating the number one player in the world and supposedly the best golfer of all time'.
"He three-putted, I made it and I beat him. That shut him up pretty quick."
