PROVIDENCE: Jason Holder bagged four wickets as West Indies restricted Pakistan to 157-7 in the second T20I here on Saturday.
Sent into bat first, Pakistan were off to a good start with Sharjeel Khan coming back as an opener alongside Mohammad Rizwan. The Green Shirts’ scoreboard read 19 of the first seven balls and they scored 46 runs off 29 balls before Sharjeel departed.
The left-handed batsman played in his style and scored 20 runs off 16 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six. Rizwan on the other end continued his form and scored 46 runs to make yet another world record. The right-handed batsman has now the highest T20I runs (752) in a calendar year. His inning today included two boundaries and as many maximums.
Skipper Babar Azam scored his 20th T20I fifty coming off 39 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. He alongside Rizwan scored the highest 67 runs partnership off 58 balls in the contest.
Pakistan’s middle-order batting collapsed once again after Rizwan and Babar walked off. From 134-2 in 16 overs to 157-8 in 20 overs, they scored just 23 runs in the last four overs and lost six wickets.
Apart from Holder, Dwayne Bravo took two wickets for the hosts.
