‘Cannot play under this management’ Amir takes indefinite break from international cricket

Karachi: Veteran pacer Mohammad Amir has taken an indefinite break from international cricket and has announced that he cannot play under the current management, ARY News reported.

According to sources, the 28-year-old has not announced retirement, however, he is not willing to play under the current set-up led by head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.

Amir’s reaction came after Waqar Younis blamed him that he has been playing T20 franchise leagues and has not taken retirement from Test cricket due to workload.

Note, Amir announced retirement from Test cricket in 2019 and made himself available for white-ball cricket only.

He was dropped from the Pakistan squad against Zimbabwe and New Zealand and has often shown disappointment towards Misbah and Waqar on Twitter.
