Lahore: Former Test cricketer and chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq thinks Mohammad Yousaf is a suitable candidate for the new head of selection committee.
Speaking on his Youtube channel, Inzamam said Yousaf has a good cricket eye and he can be worthy for Pakistan cricket at chief selector’s post.
“I have heard three names – Yousaf, Waseem, and Akram who are under consideration for taking up chief selector’s post,” he shared.
“For me, a chief selector must have an eye to spot the talent for international cricket. People often ask why performers in domestic cricket don’t get a chance. See, numbers are not only the criteria for selection otherwise top performers would have played all the time and there was no need for the chief selector.
“A chief selector sees talent from other perspectives, I mean he is responsible for spotting the talent for international cricket. From this point of view, I think Yousaf is a good option for this role as he has a good cricket eye. He has played a lot of international cricket than Waseem and Akram, apart from that he has immense exposure of playing in almost all conditions around the world,” he opined.
