Paul Gallen slammed fellow NRL great Sonny Bill Williams after beating Mark Hunt, branding him "yesterday's hero" and pouring doubt on whether they'd ever fight.

Paul Gallen's almighty tough streak was on display as the NRL great absorbed a series of monster Mark Hunt punches on his way to defeating the MMA legend in the Sydney Super Fight on Wednesday night.

Mark Hunt had Paul Gallen seeing stars in the second round of their fight - but took a moment to gloat rather than move in for the kill.
