UEFA Euro 2020: Christian Eriksen given a life-saving device by doctors

The world of football received a major shock last week when Christian Eriksen collapsed in the match against Finland in the European Championship. But now good news comes from the Denmark camp who say that Eriksen has been given a life-saving device.

After several tests were conducted, Christian Eriksen has been given an ICD – a heart defibrillator. The Denmark medical camp have released an official statement. Earlier Eriksen took to Instagram to assure fans that he is well.

The Inter Milan star fell unconscious in the group stage match against Finland in Copenhagen. From there on he was transported to the hospital amidst serious concerns about his health across the entire globe.

“After Christian has been through different heart examinations it has been decided that he should have an ICD (heart starter). This device is necessary after a cardiac attack due to rhythm disturbances,” said National Team doctor Morten Boesen.

“Christian has accepted the solution and the plan has moreover been confirmed by specialists nationally and internationally who all recommend the same treatment,” he said.

“We encourage everybody to give Christian and his family peace and privacy the following time,” he said.
