Star Titan AJ Brimson has confirmed he will be ready to suit up if called upon by the Maroons for the June 9 Origin series opener despite suffering a knee injury during the Gold Coasts' 38-10 loss to Cronulla.
Brimson limped off the field today and was unable to return due to an ongoing battle with bone bruising in his left knee.
Maroons coach Paul Green will name his squad tomorrow, and Brimson, who made his Origin debut last year, is a hot chance to earn selection once again.
"If I get picked I'll be right to go," Brimson said. "At the moment it's a bit sore but it's not too bad.
"I had a knee clash against the Broncos about four weeks ago and it's just been hanging around a little bit.
"It hasn't really been bothering me but then just another knee clash it's just kind of set it off again. I don't think it's a long-term injury which is a good thing."
The Maroons are currently facing a number of selection headaches, with fullback Kalyn Ponga and playmaker Cameron Munster both no certainties to play next month due to injuries.
Munster has been sidelined for the past three weeks with a foot injury, while Ponga was unable to play for Knights today during their win over Manly due to a groin injury.
While Ponga is the likely candidate to take on the Maroons' fullback duties this series, Brimson was the replacement No.1 in Game One last year with the Knights star unavailable during the 2020 Origin campgain because of a shoulder injury.
