LAHORE: National cricketer Umar Akmal has paid complete fine imposed on him by International Court of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS) and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for breaching anti-corruption code.
According to the reports, Akmal is now eligible for PCB’s rehabilitation process to return to cricket after paying a complete fine of PKR 4.2 million.
Earlier, PCB rejected Akmal’s request to pay the fine in installments due to poor financial conditions. But, the request was turned down after reviewing details of accounts provided by the cricketer.
Remember, CAS reduced Akmal’s 18-month to 12 months. He was suspended from all forms of the game after PCB found him guilty for being involved in suspicious activities before Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5.
