Naseem ruled out of remaining PSL 6

LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators’ Naseem Shah has been sent back home for violating set COVID-19 protocols for departure from Pakistan.

According to the PCB, Naseem submitted a non-compliant RT-PCR test result which was rejected by the management. As a result, the youngster was sent back home and will miss the remaining phase of the mega event.

As per the Covid-19 protocols for the remaining PSL6, all those traveling through chartered flights from Karachi and Lahore were directed to assemble at the team hotels in Karachi and Lahore on 24 May with negative reports of PCR tests taken not more than 48 hours prior to arrival at the hotel.

However, Naseem presented a PCR report from a test that was conducted on 18 May.

It must be noted here that as many as 300 people including players, supporting staff, PSL management, broadcasters reported at local hotels in Karachi and Lahore where they were tested for the second time.

The teams are scheduled to leave for Abu Dhabi on May 26 via chartered planes. PSL 6 remainder is likely to start in the first week of June. The revised schedule is on hold as PCB is waiting to get visas of Indian and South African members of the broadcasting team.
