Taylan May has fronted the Panthers board in a bid to save his career at the club as well as a lucrative $1.2 million contract he signed earlier this year.
The gun centre is currently sidelined under the NRL's no-fault stand-down policy over domestic violence charges, but was issued with a breach notice by the club last week for a string of unrelated off-field issues dating back multiple years.
May was found guilty of assault two years ago after an incident on the Sunshine Coast in October 2021, while some of his social media antics have left the Panthers unhappy.

The club is reportedly moving to terminate May's contract, which includes the extension he signed for 2025 and 2026 earlier this year worth $600,000 per year.
Speaking to 9News Sydney, chief executive Brian Fletcher said whether the 22-year-old had played his last game for Penrith was undetermined.
"I couldn't say he has or he hasn't – the process is only halfway through at the moment," he said.
"There's a fair bit of the process to go yet. We'll get advice after today and then go back to the board and see where it lands.

"I would think it would be a couple of weeks at the latest."
May was flanked by his legal team, who denied the opportunity to comment on the matter following the meeting at the Panthers Academy.
The local junior has played 30 first grade games for Penrith, scoring 17 tries.
