Ange's 'class' act gives Spurs fan 'best day ever'

Ange Postecoglou has endeared himself to football fans around the world after he went out of his way to answer a passionate supporter's question during a Tottenham Hotspur forum event.

Postecoglou faced questions from both host Nihal Arthanayake and fans as part of a panel which also included men's team captain Son Heung-min, chairman Daniel Levy, women's team captain Bethany England and women's coach Robert Vilahamn.

After 30 minutes of questions, Arthanayake began wrapping up the Q&A segment before Postecoglou intervened to ensure one last fan got to ask his burning question.

Sitting in the second row, Owen, a Spurs supporter with Down syndrome, had waited patiently to ask his question to Postecoglou.

Owen, who has Down syndrome, asks his question to Ange Postecoglou.

"Hang on, one more question, this young man down the front. He's got the best question — come on," Postecoglou said.

Arthanayake apologised for overlooking Owen before encouraging him to take the mic and ask away.

"How much are you going to win, Ange, this whole season?," Owen asked.

"Good man," Postecoglou said.

"We will do our best. Everyone involved at the football club … we understand what this team means to all you folk about this football club, what it means to all of you. Our role is to try and make you happy and proud every time we go out there. So that's what we will try and do."

Owen was also able to take photos with the panel afterward which were posted to social media by the chair of the Spurs' disabled supporters association Dee Bright.

"Best day ever, according to Owen. I'm not going to argue!," Bright wrote.

She later replied to a comment: "Owen is the happiest man alive right now."

She added to another who said it was a "class" move from Postecoglou: "I know, totally didn't see that coming, then Owen got a little tongue-tied over his question in the excitement. Ange is so lovely!"

Popular football account and podcaster HLTCO shared a video of the interaction with the caption: "Well, this is just superb on every level."

The gesture has no doubt won over the last of Tottenham's headstrong fans who condemned the Aussie's signing in June and adds to the hype around the club as they sit second on the Premier League ladder.
