‘Security is fantastic, our focus is cricket now’ De Kock

Karachi: South African skipper Quinton De Kock said they have been provided top-level security and they feel safe and focused on cricket moving into the Test series, starting from January 26.

Speaking to reporters via virtual interaction, De Kock said there was a little hesitation before arriving here but after looking at foolproof security, their all focus has now shifted towards cricket.

“A little concern before arriving here. But, since we arrived, we are safe and feeling extremely overwhelmed to be here,” he said.

“Our focus has now shifted to cricket completely. Pakistan is a good side and they will be tough to play against in their home conditions,” he added.

De Kock talked about the return of Pakistan’s regular skipper after he missed a series in New Zealand following a thumb fracture. “Babar, recognized as one of the great cricketers currently, is back in their side. I mean it would be tough for us to play against them as I said earlier. We are looking forward to a tough practice session and plan things accordingly,” he said.

To a query about missing Pakistani crowd due to the COVID-19 bubble, De Kock said it is unfortunate that Pakistanis will miss this occasion.

“It is unfortunate that there will be no crowd. I hope things get better soon and we get to see the crowd in the stadium once again, cheering and enjoying cricket,” he concluded.
