This summer's Ironman and Ironwoman series will be broadcast live and free on Nine, starting in February!
COVID-19 continues to cause massive trouble for the 2020-21 NutriGrain Ironman and Ironwoman series, with the start of the season postponed for the second time.
The first weekend of the series had been scheduled to take place on the weekend of December 18-19 but was pushed back due to the outbreak of the virus on Sydney's Northern Beaches, where a number of competitors live.
Surf Life Saving Australia then decided to begin the season at Wanda, near Cronulla, on the weekend of January 16-17, with an additional day of racing in place for the Friday.
But the worsening COVID-19 situation has forced the series to now be postponed until February.

Surf Life Saving Australia board chair Suzanne Storrie addressed the postponement in a press release.
"It is really unfortunate that we have had to again make the decision to postpone the start of the Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman Series, but the decision has been made with the best interests of everyone involved and the wider community," Storrie said.
"It is impossible to 100 per cent confirm how the series will proceed, but we are determined to explore all options to run the six rounds of the elite and Next Gen Series."
The plan is to now start the season at Kurrawa in Queensland on the second weekend of February.
