Sajid Sadpara, two others summit K2

Islamabad: Sajid Sadpara, son of late Ali Sadpara, summitted K2 today with Canadian filmmaker Elia Saikaly and Pasang Kaji Sherpa.

According to details, they summitted K2 on 28 August 2021 at 07:45 in the morning and now they are working on bodies recovery of Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr.

The team found the bodies of the three climbers on July 26, who went missing in February 2021.

“Last few days have been challenging and lucky for us all, high up in the mountains. We are lucky enough to find the bodies of my companions from #K2Winter2021 and trying to secure and preserve it at a safe location for further possibilities,” Sajid Sadpara.

“I am securing bodies of fallen climbers to a safe place and instant retrieval from above bottleneck is not possible without endangering many lives. Possibilities of retrieving bodies without further damages and without risking lives would be done at later stage after consulting families and experts,” he added.

Sajid requested everyone at K2 not to share any photo/video of the bodies as it is very painful for all families and friends.
