London:\u00a0Middle-order batter Saud Shakeel was pleased with his performance in the second England-Pakistan ODI at Lord’s as he scored maiden fifty while also claimed a wicket.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 25-year-old Saud was playing his second ODI of his career where he scored\u00a077-ball 56-run and took the wicket of England’s Phil Salt too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels a great honour to play at Lord\u2019s. It was a different feeling all together. I had made up my mind to perform here, which could help my side,” Saud said in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I went to the crease, the situation was not good for our side. Misbah Bhai had told me to stay on the wicket for a long time. The same thing was told by Fakhar Zaman when I joined him in the middle,” he added.<\/p>\n

On his first international wicket, Saud said: “The captain and vice-captain had given me the ball to stop the free flow of runs. I started to get spin from the pitch after that I maintained my line and length, and was rewarded with Salt\u2019s wicket. I was really excited to get my first scalp in the international cricket as it is always a memorable one.\u201d<\/p>\n

It must be noted that Green Shirts have lost the series but can avoid a clean sweep with win in the third ODI at Birmingham, Edgbaston.<\/p>\n
