UPDATE:<\/strong> The Queensland Maroons will be without back-rower Jai Arrow<\/a> for the third State of Origin<\/a> match, after he allegedly breached COVID-19 protocols by bringing a woman into the team's hotel on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> is reporting that the NRL Integrity Unit is currently investigating the incident. Arrow trained with the Maroons yesterday.<\/p>\n

The breach of the COVID-19 protocols will likely result in a 14-day isolation period, which would also rule Arrow out of South Sydney's Round 18 game against the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

While it remains to be seen what happens next and whether next week's Origin in Newcastle is impacted, it raises the prospect of other Queensland players being identified as close contacts and also potentially placed into isolation.<\/p>\n

It comes just days after the NRL handed out $305,000 in fines to St George Illawarra players who attended a house party at Paul Vaughan's property in Shellharbour.<\/a><\/p>\n

A total of 12 players were suspended for a week each, while Vaughan was hit with an eight-match ban. The Dragons subsequently tore up his contract<\/a> after the NRL's suspension.<\/p>\n
