He was on the podium 45 times and registered six pole positions.<\/p>\n<p>Reutemann was the title runner-up in 1981, finishing one point behind Brazilian Nelson Piquet.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Daddy went in peace and dignity after fighting like a champion, with a noble and strong heart that followed him to the end,&quot; his daughter Cora Reutemann said.<\/p>\n<p><img data-id=\"b114da12-173e-478c-837b-39dd41438284\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/b114da12-173e-478c-837b-39dd41438284\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><img data-id=\"3ebb33b7-c0cf-4085-b7a7-23babb3f5c65\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/3ebb33b7-c0cf-4085-b7a7-23babb3f5c65\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><img data-id=\"3c118a5f-e848-49f8-baa6-5172dd3da4d6\" src=\"https:\/\/prod.static9.net.au\/fs\/3c118a5f-e848-49f8-baa6-5172dd3da4d6\" alt=\"\" data-width=\"1396\" data-height=\"785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The former driver, who also had a career in politics, was hospitalised last month with digestive problems.
