Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim has drawn the ire of the cricket world for a wild moment of aggression directed at one of his teammates.<\/p>\n
The ugly incident occurred late in a knockout match between Rahim's Beximco Dhaka and Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League.<\/p>\n
Chasing a target of 8-150, Fortune Barishal were close to pulling off a comeback needing 45 runs off 19 balls to clinch the win.<\/p>\n
With star batsman Afif Hossain at the crease, who had scored 55 runs from 34 balls, Fortune were still a chance of stealing the game.<\/p>\n
But when Hossain skyed a scoop shot towards short fine leg the match would take a bizarre turn.<\/p>\n
The ball looked to be heading directly to 26-year-old spinner Nasum Ahmed, who positioned himself to take a simple catch.<\/p>\n
But at the last moment, Rahim, who had come barrelling over from behind the stumps, steamed across Ahmed and took the catch with his gloves, narrowly avoiding contact and a bungled wicket.<\/p>\n
The close shave appeared to caused confusion as to whose catch it was, with the 33-year-old veteran letting his frustration be known.<\/p>\n
Astonishingly, Rahim then cocked his arm back and threatened to throw the ball directly in Ahmed's face, who cowered away.<\/p>\n

Not even an apologetic shoulder tap from Ahmed (who arguably wasn't the one in the wrong) did little to cool Rahim's rage, who continued to angrily gesture as their teammates rushed in to quell the situation.<\/p>\n
The incident has been poorly received with some local fans calling for the former Test captain to face a fine or suspension.<\/p>\n
