Wallabies great Justin Harrison is expecting early fireworks in a brutal first Test between Australia and France at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Wallabies are desperate to start 2021 on a winning note after posting just one victory in Dave Rennie's first campaign last year.<\/p>\n

And the world's seventh-ranked side have a golden opportunity against a severely understrength Les Bleus, who have given most of their top cattle a spell after taxing Six Nations and Top 14 seasons.<\/p>\n

France have also faced the extra hurdle of hotel quarantine while the Wallabies have been lying in wait at their Gold Coast base.<\/p>\n

Harrison – who played and coached in France – expected the tourists to take out some frustrations on the Aussies.<\/p>\n

"It'll be absolute prison rules," Harrison warned in the latest edition of Rugby Heaven<\/em> on Stan Sport.<\/a><\/p>\n

"The first 10 minutes against the French is absolute prison rules.<\/p>\n

"You think 'hang on, this isn't rugby, this sounds like 15 men just having an absolute go at each other' and that's exactly what it's going to be.<\/p>\n

"That's what we love about what we see in the Wallaby jersey as well."<\/p>\n

Harrison also endorsed the selection of lock Matt Philip, who has been rushed straight into the Test side after completing his own hotel quarantine following a season in France for Pau.<\/p>\n

"That Australian mongrel is going to come through and Matt Philip represents every bit of that," Harrison said.<\/p>\n

"He has come through the hard way, he has shown that he can play as a very good tight forward and he's only got a few caps to his name.<\/p>\n

"He's going to be a very good product for us."<\/p>\n

Harrison was tipping a Wallabies victory in the first of three Tests, stating they would be "too strong and too well organised."<\/p>\n

Former Wallabies back Morgan Turinui – who also played club rugby in France – believed Philip's recent experience in the Top 14 would be an advantage for the Aussie pack.<\/p>\n

"The set-piece, the physicality, that is the absolute non-negotiable in a Test match against France," Turinui said.<\/p>\n

"Yes, all rugby is that but especially against France and he is aware of that.<\/p>\n

"He'll be able to just have quiet chats with his teammates in the forward pack to make sure the Wallabies aren't shocked by the physical nature of the beginning of the Test match."<\/p>\n

While the French are missing superstar halves Antoine Dupont and Romain Ntamack, they will look to a cult hero prop – standing 1.85m and weighing 124kg – to lead the way Down Under.<\/p>\n

"I'm looking forward to seeing Demba Bamba on Aussie shores for the first time," Nine and Stan Sport commentator Sean Maloney said.<\/p>\n

"He's like their Taniela Tupou version over there in France.<\/p>\n

"A massive, massive unit \u2013 scrums well and carries in a similar way to what Taniela does.<\/p>\n

"So if those two collide, it could be seismic."<\/p>\n
