Australia's Ash Barty is through to her first quarterfinals at Wimbledon<\/a> after downing Czech star Barbora Krej\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 in straight-sets.<\/p>\n

The Australian did it tough early in the match when she dropped her service game, quickly finding herself trailing a 3-1 lead in the opening set.<\/p>\n

She would have to hold her nerve to claw her way back into the match and emphatically sweep the first set, breaking Krej\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1's serve to love at 6-5.<\/p>\n

Returning for the second set, it was level-pegging throughout the early service games with neither opponent giving an inch on Court 1.<\/p>\n

But in her biggest test yet at the tournament, the Australian world No.1 was able to move away from her 14th seeded rival when she turned up the pressure to move ahead with a break at 4-2.<\/p>\n

With an early finish in sight, Krej\u010d\u00edkov\u00e1 sparked a late scare when she threatened to break the Australian back. But it was short-lived as the resilience of the women's top seed shone through en route to a straight-sets (7-5 6-3) win.<\/p>\n

"An incredibly tough match \u2026 I was just happy to come through in the end," Barty said following her win.<\/p>\n

"I felt like I found some pretty good stuff when I needed it most which is great.<\/p>\n

"As much as it's frustrating at times, I love coming out here and testing myself against the best in the world and there is certainly no place I'd rather be at the moment."<\/p>\n
