Derby: Pakistan’s bowling coach Waqar Younis has express regret as Green Shirts have not received ideal preparation ahead of the series against World Champions England.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pakistan men’s team is currently in Derby where they are training in a bio-secure bubble at Incora Ground. The side will leave for Cardiff tomorrow where they are scheduled to play first ODI of the series on July 8.<\/p>\n

“We could not have ideal preparations due to rain. We had few practices indoor and a few on the ground.\u00a0It would have been better if the sun was out and we could have spent more time on the ground,” Waqar told reporters in a virtual presser.<\/p>\n

Waqar is confident that the bowlers will do well in the series but stressed that it’s difficult to adjust for ODIs after playing T20s.<\/p>\n

“It takes time for bowlers to adjust for ODIs after playing T20s. The pacers are getting into a good rhythm. They are fine bowlers and experienced especially Shaheen [Shah] and Hasan [Ali]. I am pleased overall,” he added.<\/p>\n

No Pakistani bowler is in the top 10 rankings of all three formats. Waqar believes that it doesn’t matter as winning is the top priority.<\/p>\n

“Our aim is to win matches and if you see last few series, Pakistan have won. This is meaningless if they are in the top 10 or not but as a unit, they are doing well for the team, one should not worry about it,” Waqar added.<\/p>\n
