Tim Tszyu didn't hold back in laying out his intentions to ruin the rise of "Cinderella Man" Steve Spark<\/a> when the two meet in Newcastle<\/a> on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

Spark stepped in at short notice<\/a> to fight Tszyu after his original opponent Michael Zerafa pulled out a week before the welterweight bout.<\/a><\/p>\n

In their first joint press conference, Tszyu (18-0) made it clear to Spark (12-1)<\/a> – who turned heads with his win over Jack Brubaker earlier this year – that he would not be holding back in a bid to retain his Commonwealth and WBO Global titles.<\/a><\/p>\n

"I've got this fire burning within," Tszyu said.<\/p>\n

"I'm in it to take this guy out, whoever they put in front of me.<\/p>\n

\"Tim<\/p>\n

"I think he's a good boxer.<\/p>\n

"He's got the skills. But there's levels in boxing and I'm no Brubaker.<\/p>\n

"Look, it's good to have dreams, it's good to have belief, it's good to have vision," Tszyu said.<\/p>\n

"But once we get in the ring, all of that disappears. You get into my territory, you get into my zone, you get into my cage, and there's only thing that happens – it's that the hope, the soul, and everything gets taken away and I'm in control."<\/p>\n

Tszyu's manager Glen Jennings, said in preparation for the fight they've left "no stone unturned" and training camp has been "brilliant".<\/p>\n

Spark's manager Brendon Smith flagged his fighter's intent to upset Australia's top-ranked boxer this week.<\/p>\n

"One thing we've always dealt with was dealing with adversity and being ready at all times," Smith said.<\/p>\n

"We're not supposed to win this fight, but there's two men in this building that believe different, and that's myself and Stevie.<\/p>\n

"I feel quite confident. He's a very confident young man and he puts the work in.<\/p>\n

"It was a matter of time. It's his time now.<\/p>\n

"We haven't come to make up the numbers in this fight. We've come here to really upset the apple cart."<\/p>\n

Spark said while he may be the next man up, he's by no means coming unprepared in trying to "de-throne" Tszyu.<\/p>\n

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't back myself," he said.<\/p>\n

"This didn't happen overnight. It's a lot of years of hard work and sacrifice to get to this point. I've earned this shot and that's why I believe I got this call.<\/p>\n

"My style is a style Tim probably hasn't seen yet.<\/p>\n

"My style is going to pose a couple of threats to him.<\/p>\n

"This is a very dangerous fight for myself and for Tim.<\/p>\n

"Don't count me out in this fight. I'm here to do this for every Aussie battler out there."<\/p>\n
