The Wallabies have received a boost ahead of Wednesday's opening Test against France with halfback Jake Gordon declared fit to start at Suncorp Stadium.<\/p>\n

With senior halves Nic White and James O'Connor both injured, Gordon's availability will give Australia a welcome shot of leadership and experience.<\/p>\n

Waratahs captain Gordon suffered a knee injury against the Highlanders in Super Rugby but has made a strong recovery during some tough training sessions on the Gold Coast.<\/p>\n

Gordon has edged out Reds halfback Tate McDermott to start with the latter's sharp running game set to be used as an impact weapon from the bench.<\/p>\n

France named two uncapped players in their starting XV<\/a> with five more on the bench.<\/p>\n
