"He is a bit of a practical joker and I would say it was just friendly banter that went a little wrong.<\/p>\n

"I've written a letter to the judiciary to please go easy on him.<\/p>\n

The incident brings back memories of former league bad-boy John Hopoate, who was suspended for 12 weeks for a series of similar incidents involving three Cowboys players in an NRL match in 2001.<\/p>\n
