A spectacular brain fade from Souths star Adam Reynolds<\/a> cost him a certain try in the Rabbitohs' rout against the Wests Tigers<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Reynolds is one of a number of halfbacks vying for a Blues jersey for Origin III after Panthers duo Jarome Luai and Nathan Cleary were ruled out of the series finale<\/a> through injury, but this moment would not have impressed NSW coach Brad Fittler.<\/p>\n

With the Rabbitohs dominating the Tigers during the first half, Reynolds appeared to bring up a try of his own before things took a turn for the worst when his scoring effort was intervened by the NRL bunker.<\/p>\n

The South Sydney halfback strolled into the in-goal and only needed to put the ball down, which he did, but not before his foot unexpectedly made contact with the touchline.<\/p>\n

The incredible blunder left Blues legends Andrew Johns and Peter Sterling in stitches on Nine's NRL coverage.<\/p>\n

"What's he got, 10 metres, 12 metres to put it down?" Sterling said on Nine's coverage. "He's untouched at the line."<\/p>\n

"Adam Reynolds has put his foot on the dead-ball line. He was thinking about his try celebration," Johns added.<\/p>\n

"How big do you reckon those feet are? They'd be about size eight or size nine?"<\/p>\n

Nine's lead commentator Mat Thompson was also stunned by the play, calling it "a passage of play I don't think anyone ever wants to see again".<\/p>\n
