The Raiders<\/a> put their fans through so much misery tonight that they began pouring out of Canberra Stadium with more than 20 minutes still to be played.<\/p>\n

A relentless Titans side dealt a disturbingly weak Raiders<\/a> outfit a 44-6 hiding<\/a>, running in eight tries – many of which were painstakingly simple – as Canberra crashed to a 10th loss from their first 15 games<\/a> of the season.<\/p>\n

Although it took Gold Coast 20 minutes to score the opening points of the match, Justin Holbrook's men surged to take a 22-0 lead into the half-time break.<\/p>\n

Raiders fans then started streaming out of the venue as their team trailed 34-0 with 24 minutes still left on the clock.<\/p>\n

"Away they go … They're going to get a hotdog, for sure," said legendary Balmain front-rower Steve Roach on Fox League's coverage.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Commentator Dan Ginnane added: "They've had enough … It's four degrees and the car has got heating."<\/p>\n

Astoundingly, the game was won and lost during the 10 minutes that superstar Gold Coast second-rower David Fifita spent in the sin bin in the first half.<\/p>\n

Fifita was marched from the field for a late shot on Raiders halfback Sam Williams in the 30th minute – and by the time the Maroons enforcer had returned to the field the Titans had added another three tries, to be leading 20-0.<\/p>\n

Canberra headed into the clash in 10th on the ladder but are now floundering in 13th.<\/p>\n

Former Panthers captain Greg Alexander is baffled at the Raiders' staggering plummet in 2021, which has seen Canberra go from grand final and preliminary final appearances in 2019 and 2020 respectively to be languishing in the mess they're now in.<\/p>\n

"I can't believe the fall of the Raiders over the last 12 months. This was a mentally tough side that could answer anything and had a bit of punch in them and then they could answer and score points," Alexander said.<\/p>\n

"They haven't got anything at the moment.<\/p>\n

"They are down the bottom because they don't know how to handle adversity. They can't handle adversity!<\/p>\n

"They've won two out of their last 11 – that's terrible."<\/p>\n
