One match \u2014 and one win \u2014 into their mixed doubles partnership at Wimbledon<\/a>, and Nick Kyrgios<\/a> is already learning from Venus Williams.<\/p>\n

During their crowd-pleasing 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Austin Krajicek and Sabrina Santamaria at No. 2 Court on Friday, the fiery Kyrgios did the sorts of things he often does during matches: argue with the chair umpire and let real or perceived wrongs linger in his mind.<\/p>\n

Kyrgios got agitated by a late line call early in the third set.<\/p>\n

\"Venus'\u00a0sensational\u00a0winner\u00a0saves\u00a0break\u00a0point\"<\/p>\n

"So you're telling me no one has ever waited that long? What do you mean?" he argued.<\/p>\n

"What do you mean no? I didn't see the hand signal. It's bulls–t, man."<\/p>\n

"What are you f—ing talking about? It's the same f—ing thing. It's bulls—," he later added.<\/p>\n

After the match Kyrgios explained the experience made him have more respect for the tennis legend.<\/p>\n

"I was, like, getting so mad at, like, past points, things that were a bit unlucky, and she was like, 'I don't even remember that.' She has such a fast memory.<\/p>\n

"I think that's one thing I actually have to take from her," he said. "When a point is done, she completely moves on.<\/p>\n

"She doesn't dwell on anything that's happened in the past. I guess that's what's helped her have so much success. That's why she's such a great champion."<\/p>\n

They talked strategy (presumably) before points and shared celebratory fist bumps, and the occasional laugh, after many of them.<\/p>\n

"I felt a bit of pressure playing with Venus. I just wanted to \u2014 not put on a good show or anything \u2014 I really wanted to win.<\/p>\n

"Like, I've never really wanted to win a mixed doubles or a doubles match that much before. I was really trying hard," Kyrgios said.<\/p>\n

\"Venus,<\/p>\n

"It was just a lot of fun. She's iconic to the sport and she's an absolute legend. She'll go down as one of the greatest players ever to pick up a racquet when it's all said and done."<\/p>\n

The two looked like they enjoyed their time together on court, with Kyrgios joking: "I think half the time she was just laughing at my accent".<\/p>\n

Fittingly, Williams went in for the high-five after sealing the victory but Kyrgios accidentally left her hanging.<\/p>\n
