Former US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau<\/a> has split with his long-time caddy, and the move hasn't escaped the attention of his fierce rival<\/a> Brooks Koepka<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ahead of this week's Rocket Mortgage Classic<\/a> in Detroit, DeChambeau confirmed he and caddie Tim Tucker are taking a break, although they haven't ruled out working together again in the future.<\/p>\n

"They have gone their separate ways for now," DeChambeau's agent, Brett Falkoff, told ESPN.<\/p>\n

"That doesn't mean forever, but it means they are not working together now. They met last night and decided to move on.<\/p>\n

"It's just an accumulation of things, and it's never easy when a player and caddie split up. They just decided the best situation for now was essentially to not be together anymore."<\/p>\n

Koepka, who isn't in Detroit this week, couldn't let the opportunity to have a dig at DeChambeau pass.<\/p>\n

"Couldn't do it without my guy Rick!" he tweeted, along with a picture of the pair at the US Open.<\/p>\n

The DeChambeau-Koepka feud has escalated in recent months, with neither missing an opportunity to take a dig at the other.<\/p>\n

The situation exploded at the PGA Championship when a leaked video revealed Koepka rolling his eyes<\/a> during an interview as DeChambeau passed behind him.<\/p>\n

"I lost my train of thought, hearing that bulls–t," Koepka muttered.<\/p>\n

"F–king Christ."<\/p>\n

NFL legends Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have also been dragged into the controversy,<\/a> after an announcement that DeChambeau would partner Rodgers in a made-for-TV event.<\/p>\n

"Sorry bro @AaronRodgers12," Koepka tweeted, presumably sympathising with Rodgers for having to be paired with DeChambeau.<\/p>\n

"It's nice to be living rent free in your head!" DeChambeau replied.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau's split with Tucker comes as something of a surprise. The pair have been together for all eight of the 27-year-old's PGA Tour wins, including his 2020 US Open triumph.<\/p>\n

Tucker's departure was sudden, given he caddied for DeChambeau in the practice rounds earlier this week, including Wednesday's pro-am.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau opened with an even-par round of 72, leaving him 110th in the field of 156, nine shots behind American Davis Thompson.<\/p>\n
