Saint John\u2019s: West Indies women registered a 10-run win over Pakistan women in the T20I series opener\u00a0played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pakistan failed to chase a 137-run target and managed\u00a0to score 126 for six in their allocated 20 overs.<\/p>\n

The Girls in Green had a poor start to the chase as they\u00a0lost six wickets for 57 inside 13 overs. Ayesha Naseem coming to bat at number seven was joined by Fatima Sana. Both added\u00a0an unbeaten 69-run partnership for the seven-wicket.<\/p>\n

Ayesha playing in her fifth T20I, returned undefeated on 45 off 33 \u2013 her highest score in this format. Her innings included two fours and a six. Fatima scored unbeaten 24 off 21, hitting three fours.<\/p>\n

For the hosts,\u00a0Shamilia Connel took three, while Aaliyah Alleyne took two wickets.<\/p>\n

Earlier,\u00a0<\/strong>Nida Dar gave away only 15 runs and bagged two wickets in her quota of four overs after\u00a0Hayley Matthews and Dottin provided a solid start to the hosts. The West Indies openers struck a 65-run partnership from 53 balls, before\u00a0Matthews\u00a0was dismissed by Nashra Sandhu in the ninth over.<\/p>\n

In the following over, Nida created history with the wicket of\u00a0Deandra Dottin\u00a0to become the first-ever Pakistan bowler \u2013 across men\u2019s or women\u2019s game \u2013 to take 100 T20I wickets.<\/p>\n

The two dismissals saw West Indies slip from 65 for none to 67 for two and the wicket of their captain on the last ball of the 14th<\/sup>\u00a0over further compounded troubles for the hosts.<\/p>\n

Pacer Fatima Sana dismissed Kyshona Knight and Chedean Nation next to finish with two for 32. Diana Baig and Nashra picked up a wicket each.<\/p>\n

Both sides will feature in the second T20I at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on 2 July.<\/p>\n
