The NRL<\/a> is investigating Cronulla Sharks star Josh Dugan<\/a> for breaking the code's stringent biosecurity protocols<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A photo of Dugan out with friends at a restaurant on the weekend emerged after all NRL players were ordered into stage three restrictions, which forbids them from visiting hotels, clubs and pubs.<\/p>\n

Players can only leave home for essential travel.<\/p>\n

The photo shows Dugan with three friends at a restaurant in Potts Point.<\/p>\n

Dugan has been forced into isolation from the rest of the Sharks players and ordered to undergo a COVID test.<\/p>\n

He apologised for his actions in an interview with News Corp.<\/p>\n

"I just want to say I'm sorry, it was an error in judgement,'' Dugan said.<\/p>\n

"It's been a difficult period for me personally and I'm putting my hand up on this one.<\/p>\n

"I've had all the necessary testing done for COVID and I've come back negative.<\/p>\n

"I'll isolate and do everything that is asked of me."<\/p>\n

The former representative star was relegated to the Newtown Jets three weeks ago and is off contract at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The NRL last night placed all players under level-four restrictions, which bans all visitors and requires players to remain at home unless training, playing or completing essential household tasks.<\/p>\n
