Superstar sportsman Sonny Bill Williams<\/a> has survived a knockdown to win his comeback boxing fight – and he then called out AFL great Barry Hall<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In his first professional bout since 2015, Williams defeated Waikato Falefehi in a 57-56 unanimous-points victory at Townsville Entertainment Centre last night.<\/p>\n

After completing his first fight since beating American Chauncy Welliver in January 2015, Williams' record now stands at 8-0 (three knockouts).<\/p>\n

It's not known who the dual international will fight next, but he was open to taking on Hall when asked following his comeback bout.<\/p>\n

"I hope so. Hopefully I can get a fight or two in before then and sharpen up a bit more," Williams said.<\/p>\n

The former premiership-winning Bulldog and Rooster had also indicated previously that he was willing to square off with rugby league legend Paul Gallen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gallen's professional record is now 11-1 after he succumbed to Australian heavyweight champion Justis Huni<\/a> in a 10th-round technical knockout earlier this month.<\/p>\n

"I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'll fight Paul," Williams said on Nine.<\/p>\n

"But I've got to do my due diligence like he had in the past few years. You know what I mean? That means sizing him up."<\/p>\n

Gallen replied: "He sized me up already tonight. He goes, 'You're a bit shorter than before'.<\/p>\n

"I've got great respect for what Sonny has done in sport. But as I said, it remains to be seen whether this fight will happen.<\/p>\n

"There's no announcement tonight. I've got a big fight coming up against a world-ranked opponent, it's a huge fight I'm preparing for.<\/p>\n

"Maybe one day me and Sonny can happen. I've said it over and over for many years now: let's do it. I still have my doubts it will ever happen though, big boy."<\/p>\n
