Brad Fittler<\/a> expressed little sympathy when learning of Reece Walsh's hamstring injury in the lead-up to Origin II, saying he was surprised the Maroons hadn't injured the teenager earlier.<\/p>\n

Walsh was officially ruled out of Queensland's Game Two line-up<\/a> on the eve of the match, after pulling up injured during the Maroons' captain's run.<\/p>\n

Fittler held a zoom press conference prior to Queensland's announcement of the Walsh injury and continued the war of words between the two camps.<\/p>\n

"I'm surprised they haven't hurt him earlier," Fittler said when asked about Walsh's injury.<\/p>\n

"We love the drama around Origin, that's what makes it so great."<\/p>\n

The NSW Blues coach said his side would not be impacted by all the conjecture around who would be lining up in Walsh's absence.<\/p>\n

"Well it won't be (a disruption) for us," he said.<\/p>\n

"They would have a player that's been with them the entire time, so they'll be able to cover."<\/p>\n
