Three Bulldogs<\/a> players have been placed in isolation and ordered to get a COVID-19 test, after visiting an exposure site in Sydney's eastern suburbs three days after they were told to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

Dylan Napa<\/a>, Brandon Wakeham and Aaron Schoupp were at the Royal Hotel in Bondi on June 20, which was also attended by a person who has since tested positive to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

The entire Bulldogs squad will not train until the test results are known.<\/p>\n

"The NRL issued a clear directive to all Sydney based clubs on 17 June mandating that players and staff were not to attend any restaurants, clubs or bars in the Waverley Local Government area," the NRL said in a statement.<\/p>\n

"All clubs in the Greater Sydney, Wollongong and Central Coast areas were placed on Level 3+ Biosecurity Protocols from Tuesday evening and are not permitted to leave home except to train or access essential services.<\/p>\n

"The players have not been in contact with representatives from any other club nor does it impact any State of Origin player."<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs, who are currently 15th on the ladder, don't play again until next Saturday, when they face Manly.<\/p>\n

ARL Commission boss Peter V'landys says he won't be rushing to pass judgement on the trio.<\/p>\n

"They've got to be given due process and natural justice," he told Radio 2GB's Ben Fordham.<\/p>\n

"The good thing is they used their QR codes to enter these premises, so they did the right thing there. We have to do a full investigation, give them natural justice."<\/p>\n

V'landys pointed out that one incident shouldn't overshadow what's been achieved in the last 13 months.<\/p>\n

"There's 800 players and officials in our bubble, last year they proved how professional and conscientious they were, there was no breach," he said.<\/p>\n

"I just hope nobody judges them on just one breach, because the players have done a wonderful job in keeping the competition going. Their professionalism is not in doubt.<\/p>\n

"This one breach is regrettable, but I hope people don't judge it as a whole."<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 drama comes as the Sydney Roosters were forced to relocate their Round 16 match<\/a> against Newcastle to McDonald Jones Stadium.<\/p>\n

The game was originally set to down for the SCG.<\/p>\n

"The people of the Hunter region love rugby league so it was an easy call to take our Round 16 home game to Newcastle," said Roosters coach Trent Robinson.<\/p>\n
