Richmond Tigers vice-captain Jack Riewoldt has agreed to a new deal with the AFL club.<\/p>\n
Riewoldt revealed the news that he would be playing his 16th season of AFL footy during a live interview on Fox Sports.<\/p>\n
"I actually haven't signed a bit of paper but I've formally agreed to hang around for another year," the Tigers forward said.<\/p>\n

"I'm super excited obviously. I've actually never gone into the last year of a contract – we've always sort of renegotiated with a year to go.<\/p>\n
"It played on my mind a bit early on – obviously last year I didn't have as good a year as I would've liked.<\/p>\n

The one-year contract extension ends speculation about his playing future for now, but at 32 the Tigers star's career is clearly winding down.<\/p>\n
Riewoldt has had an impressive season with 34 goals already this year, surpassing his whole 2020 season total.<\/p>\n
During his time at the club, Riewoldt has helped them win three Premierships (2017, 2019, 2020).<\/p>\n
