Queensland players are hoping for a more 'hands on' approach from coach Paul Green in the lead-up to Origin II<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Maroons players<\/a> have done their own painful post-mortem of the opening game, in which they were blown off the park by NSW<\/a> by 50 points.<\/p>\n

And they have concluded that they spent too much time playing mind games with what the Blues might or might not do instead of worrying about their own house.<\/p>\n

"They had a very strong side with great individual players and I think we spent a lot of the week trying to counter them," one senior Maroons player told Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n

\"QLDER:<\/p>\n

"I believe Paul had faith in us coming up with the goods in attack – he knows you can't teach experienced Origin players much in just a couple of sessions.<\/p>\n

"We went out there and screwed up – that's on us.<\/p>\n

"But I hope this week we work more on our own combinations, get game one out of our heads and work to our strengths.<\/p>\n

\"Gus<\/p>\n

"We have plenty of strike-power of our own and if we concentrate on those strengths rather then trying to stop the Blues, we will go better."<\/p>\n

The Maroons have a great record against the Blues at Suncorp Stadium and will need every bit of the home ground advantage to square the series after the disaster in Townsville.<\/p>\n
