The Parramatta Eels put on 30 unanswered points in an electric second half against the Bulldogs to comfortably come away with a 36-10 win<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Canterbury had a perfect start with tries to Dylan Napa and Tuipulotu Katoa to get a 10-6 lead into the half, but they blew the advantage with a nightmare second 40.<\/p>\n

It was a particularly memorable day for Eels debutant Sean Russell who finished with two tries in his first NRL game. The 19-year-old was a "surprise" inclusion, according to club legend Peter Sterling, having been picked ahead of Blake Ferguson with Maika Sivo out suspended.<\/p>\n

But the youngster proved he belongs on the big stage with an impressive performance on the wing.<\/p>\n

Eels coach Brad Arthur said pre-game that Ferguson was tasked with "a couple of things to keep working on" in explaining Russell's nod ahead of the former Origin rep.<\/p>\n

After a strong defensive first half saw the Bulldogs give up just one try to Ryan Matterson, they had a horror start to the second half with a penalty try awarded to Mitchell Moses.<\/p>\n

Brandon Wakeham put on a blatant tackle as the Eels star chased a kick with no-one in front of him, giving the referee little choice but to give a penalty try.<\/p>\n

If the try wasn't awarded, Wakeham would be off the field for the foul, but he survived as the Bulldogs coughed up the points instead, giving Parramatta an 8-point lead.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs then lost Luke Thompson to the sin bin for a high shot on Dylan Brown, and it didn't get any prettier for Canterbury from there.<\/p>\n

Tries to Parramatta's Shaun Lane, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, a brace for Russell and a cherry-on-top finish for Moses saw the home side storm to victory.<\/p>\n

The only blemish for the Eels was Marata Niukore being put on report and sin-binned at the end of the first half and Nathan Brown cited for high contact.<\/p>\n
