MMA icon Anderson Silva has shocked former middleweight boxing world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr with a split decision victory in an exhibition fight.<\/p>\n
Silva and Chavez Jr fought in Mexico, on the 'Tribute to the Kings' exhibition card also featuring Julio Cesar Chavez Sr, and the UFC legend prevailed easily despite the scorecard.<\/p>\n
Silva, 46, won 75-77, 77-75, 77-75 over Chavez Jr, 35, with most believing that he should have been given a unanimous verdict. 'Spider' entered the bout 1-1 as a boxer, while Chavez Jr had nearly 60 pro fights to his credit.<\/p>\n
While Silva was the record-breaking king of the UFC's middleweight division, his easy transition to the boxing ring against an accomplished – albeit faded – opponent was startling.<\/p>\n

"I feel so happy. I'm very … wow," Silva said.<\/p>\n
"I need to say thank you because my coaches work a lot and when I started this camp training, I talk to my coach and said I need to do this because I love fighting and boxing is my dream for many, many years."<\/p>\n
