Novak Djokovic<\/a> is now in the box seat to win at unprecedented Golden Slam, tennis great Todd Woodbridge says.<\/p>\n

Djokovic has won the Australian and French Opens so far this year, taking his majors tally to 19. The world No.1 will start a hot favourite for Wimbledon, the Olympics and the US Open.<\/p>\n

If he wins them all, he'll claim the first men's Golden Slam and also overtake the majors haul of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal (20). The only Golden Slam in tennis history was won by women's icon Steffi Graf in 1988.<\/p>\n

Djokovic is yet to win the Olympic gold medal but has a combined eight titles at Wimbledon and the US Open.<\/p>\n

"The Golden Slam – it is very much on the cards, there is no doubt about that," Woodbridge said on Sports Sunday<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"What Novak managed to produce in Paris, in two comebacks from two sets to love down, is some of the best mental stuff you'll ever see.<\/p>\n

"Now, he does get a bit gnarly at times on court but he's an athlete that's able to focus that into what he needs to do to get the result done.<\/p>\n

"That final, to come back against [Stefanos] Tsitsipas, fantastic effort from him. And he's just freshening up, he's down in Mallorca on grass courts getting ready as his preparation for Wimbledon. <\/p>\n

"He most definitely goes in a heavy, heavy favourite for Wimbledon."<\/p>\n

With Nadal having withdrawn from Wimbledon, Federer is mounting a lone defence of the majors tally. Yet the Swiss great copped a shock loss in his key build-up tournament.<\/p>\n

"His fitness is fine but he's lacking match play," Woodbridge said.<\/p>\n

"That time away from the game is not easy and in Halle, in his lead-in tournament, went out to Felix Auger-Aliassime, the young Canadian. He'll be disappointed not getting more matches under his belt on the grass. <\/p>\n

"The hardest part about Halle, absolutely zero crowds, and that's not good for Roger. He feeds off that and I think when he's playing against opponents, they also feel that the crowd goes for him."<\/p>\n
