GWS Giants<\/a> star Toby Greene<\/a> is once again in hot water after being reported for striking during an otherwise brilliant outing against Carlton. <\/p>\n

Greene was at his electric best up forward in the Giants' 16. 6. (102) to 9. 12. (66) win<\/a> at GIANTS Stadium, kicking four goals and grabbing 20 disposals, but was not far from the drama as per usual. <\/p>\n

The incident in question occurred in the third quarter of the match when the umpire blew the whistle during a Giants' counter-attacking foray forward. <\/p>\n

As teammate Bobby Hill ran forward, replays showed Greene punching Carlton's Nic Newman in the stomach, briefly winding the Blues defender. <\/p>\n

Newman was able to play on, which will likely mean that Greene will avoid a suspension, but Hawthorn great Jordan Lewis stressed the importance of the AFL removing such acts.<\/p>\n

"That was the type of action that we've seen go out of our game," he told Fox Footy.<\/p>\n

"I think there was a spate of them not last year, but the year before, and they really clamped down on that. A silly little incident by Greene and he'll be fined or suspended. <\/p>\n

"If he got suspended, I wouldn't be unhappy with that because that sort of action we want rubbed out of our game."<\/p>\n

The punch on Newman took a little gloss off what was a sensational individual performance from Greene, one he punctuated with a glorious torpedo goal after the siren to end the first quarter.<\/p>\n

However, following the match Greene played down his incredible feat.<\/p>\n

"I've never actually practiced kicking 'torps' so I'll probably say that's a fluke," he told Seven.<\/p>\n

"I never practice them, a few of the boys do, I just figure I'll never kick one so that's probably a bit of luck that one." <\/p>\n

Greene was ably assisted up forward by Jeremy Finlayson, who booted five straight goals, as the duo combined to match Carlton's entire goal tally.<\/p>\n

The Giants' midfield was dominant from the first bounce, with Jacob Hopper (27 disposals), Tim Taranto (24 disposals) and Josh Kelly (25 disposals) all prolific once again.<\/p>\n

Tagger Matt de Boer did a sensational job on Carlton young gun Sam Walsh, holding the All-Australian candidate to just 20 disposals, with 14 of them coming as handballs.<\/p>\n

The Giants will aim to string consecutive wins together in Round 15 when they host Hawthorn, while Carlton will host the Adelaide Crows.<\/p>\n
